With the financial assistance of a Booster Club Grant, the Oak Ridge After School Adventure Club traveled to Jackson Manor January 27 to spread some cheer after the holidays, when visitors tend to be more scarce. Students from kindergarten to sixth grade distributed 100   handmade tissue flowers, played their musical instruments, and sang songs.

This was  the first chance for many students to experience  community service—and for some of them, it was their first ride in a school bus! Students and residents enjoyed an exciting visit and look forward to repeating this adventure again.

Oak Ridge R-VI Administration planned daily treats to show their appreciation to the faculty and staff in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week May 2-6.  On Monday, Dr. Eftink, Mr. Horrell and Dr. Nix prepared a grilled lunch for faculty and staff; Tuesday was Dairy Queen Blizzard Treat Day; on Wednesday, they received totes/satchels with post-its and a pen; on Thursday, they received homemade cinnamon rolls while the seniors washed their cars; and finally, Friday was a jeans day.

The District is very grateful for all the hard work and sacrifices the faculty and staff of Oak Ridge R-VI contribute to make this school great!  Thank You!
