Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten

General Information

The Oak Ridge School District offers Pre-School for ages 3-4 and Pre-Kindergarten for ages 4-5. Students can attend 3, 4 or 5 days per week. Our curriculum follows the Project Construct model. For more information call (573) 266-3242. In the case of bad weather the schedule for Pre-School and Pre-K follows the district schedule.

Hours of Operation

The hours of operation for preschool are 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with school hours from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. We can provide before and after care for students with a limit of 10 hours per day. We know the importance of school for your child therefore no child will be admitted from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. unless there are special circumstances, such as doctors appointments. Please limit your child's attendance to no more than 10 hours a day.

Beyond a 10 hour day (between 6:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.) fee is $5.00 each 1/2 hour. After 6:00 p.m. the fee is $1.0 per minute. These rules are strictly enforced. Failure to pay these fines will result in your child not being allowed to return to the center the following week or until they are paid.

The following holidays are when the center will be closed and no fees will be charged:

  • New Year's Day
  • February Parent/Teacher Conferences
  • Good Friday

[Example: If your child attends the first week of August, the fees for the 2nd week of August have to be paid by that Friday before. You may prepay more than a week in advance if you so choose.] If the Center receives a returned check for insufficient funds, then the fees must be taken care of prior to your child returning to the center.
