Oak Ridge R6 is proud to announce that Mrs. Jackie Ludwig was awarded the prestigious Pioneer Award on August 1 in Columbia, MO.

Each year since 1974, the Missouri State Board of Education and the  Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) have selected a few individuals to be honored as Missouri Pioneers in Education, in recognition of their distinguished careers and contributions to public education, either at the state or local levels.  One of these awards was presented to Jackie Ludwig by the president of the Missouri State Board of Education and the commissioner of education during DESE’s annual summer conference for school administrators.

More than 200 individuals have been named to the select group of Pioneers since the inception of the award.  Recipients are nominated and selection is made by DESE staff and the commissioner of education based on the criteria of unique contributions to public education in the state and/or distinguished and far-reaching careers in education.

Jackie was nominated by the administration for her five decades of service and contributions to the District which includes her 35-year teaching, as well as her service on the Oak Ridge R6 Board of Education for 15 years.

Thank you Mrs. Jackie Ludwig for all you have done for the school and the community of Oak Ridge, and congratulations on being named one of Missouri’s Pioneers in Education.  Your service, generosity, and dedication have left a lasting impression on the people who call Oak Ridge home and we are extremely proud of you!
