District Announcement
Here are the baseball and softball brackets for the tournament this weekend. Tournament dates will be 4/13-4/15. Looks like great weather and great games. We hope to see you there. As always, I’ll keep you posted if there are any changes.
Good afternoon. I wanted to share with you something that we are doing this weekend, during the tournaments. We are going to be accepting donations for the Glen Allen tornado victims. We will do this all 3 days of the tournament and deliver to Glen Allen afterwards. I have shared a flyer with you that gives all the information. I will park a bus on the ball field parking lot to store all donations. If you have any questions, please let me know. You can email me at jward@oakridge.k12.mo.us.
Big congratulations to both the softball and baseball teams tonight for getting big wins against Delta and Bell City.
Up next is the Oak Ridge Invitational Tournament, starting Thursday with both teams playing at 3pm. We hope to see you there.
It is beautiful outside today! Great weather for a baseball and softball game. Our softball team travels to Delta to take on the Bobcats with a 4:30 start time. Our baseball boys have a home game today against the Bell City Cubs also with a 4:30 start time. Good luck to both teams.

Wednesday 4/12: No games
Thursday 4/13: Softball: OR vs SCC 3pm; Baseball vs Jefferson 3pm at home
Friday 4/14: Softball: OR vs Delta 3pm; Baseball vs TBD at Home
Saturday 4/15: Softball: OR vs AV 10am; Baseball vs TBD at home
I'll keep everyone posted with the baseball tournament because times will change depending on the outcome of the games.

Update: The HSSB game scheduled at Scott City has been cancelled. I will let you know if/when I can get a rescheduled date confirmed. Have a great rest of your Wednesday and have a great Easter Break!
Just passing along some information. If you have any questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer.
Just a couple more things this Monday morning to pass along. The Athletic Banquet for all sports teams will be held on 5/12/23 starting at 6pm in the elem gym/Cafeteria. This year's theme is "Let's Taco Bout OR Athletes". Invitations will be passed out to student athletes after Easter Break.
Also, Dr. Glueck has agreed to come to Oak Ridge on Saturday, 5/20/23 from 8am-12pm and do physicals for our student athletes. Physicals can be valid for 2 years (if no concerns) and the cost is $20. A signed note will need to be sent with any student without a guardian present for Dr. Glueck to give the physicals. If you are not sure if your child needs a current physical for next year, just email me (jward@oakridge.k12.mo.us) and I will let you know. If you are going to be a 6th grader next year, you will need a current physical on file if you are playing sports. Also, any marching band student will need to have a current physical on file (new this year).

Good morning! Looks like a great day for some baseball games. Baseball is good to go today at Kelly. Oak Ridge will play at 12 vs Delta and 2 vs Kelly. Good luck today!
With updated weather information, Oak Ridge will release students early today. Student pick ups will start at 2:30. Buses will load at 2:40.

Severe storms are predicted for this afternoon starting between 4-5pm. All after school activities are cancelled for today, including after school adventure club. At this time, we are not scheduled to release early. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated as needed.

You know the rest of course, but today is the home opener for our baseball boys! It’s a beautiful sunny day so come out and root for the home team as we welcome Perryville to town. Due to the band concert tonight and bus driver conflicts from Perryville we are going to throw the first pitch at 4pm today. Hope to see you there!
