We wanted to send out a HUGE Thank You to everyone that donated over the weekend to the Bollinger County Tornado Relief. We delivered all the donations this morning to the Woodland School. The bus was very full.

Here is the schedule for this week. There is an additional rescheduled softball game on Thursday at Scott City. Week of 4/17-4/22 Monday 4/17: HSSB @ Grandview 4:30pm; bus leaves at 2:15 and you will be called out of class at 2pm. Tuesday 4/18: HSSB vs Charleston, DH 3pm; HSBb vs St. Vincent 4:30pm Wednesday 4/19: HSBb @ Saxony 4:30pm, bus leaves at 3:25pm Thursday 4/20: HSSB @ Scott City 4:30pm, bus leaves at 3pm, you will be called out at 2:45pm Friday 4/21: No Games Saturday 4/22: Prom Don't forget this week is our elementary volleyball clinic, everyday until 5pm. I will meet the campers in the cafeteria after school and walk them down to the HS gym.

BIG Congratulations and way to go to the softball Lady Jays! They beat AV in the bottom of the 7th 4-3 to claim 2nd place of the Oak Ridge Invitational Tournament. We are so proud of you all.

Good evening. I have a change in the boys baseball game schedule for tomorrow. We will now play at 2pm vs Meadow Heights. St. Vincent has prom tomorrow and asked to play earlier. Tomorrow’s schedule looks like this. Baseball 10am: Crystal City vs Woodland 12pm: Jefferson vs St. Vincent 2pm: Oak Ridge vs Meadow Heights Softball 10am: Oak Ridge vs AV 12pm: Delta vs SCC

We have exciting things happening at the Ridge today!! Today is the second day of our softball/baseball tournament. Both teams play at 3pm today vs Delta. You can sit in the middle and watch both teams! It’s a win win for everyone. Also, FFA, FCCLA, and FBLA are teaming up for their annual fish fry from 4-7pm. Adult plates are $13 and kids plates are $7. This will be in the HS gym this year and when our games are over today, you can walk up the hill and grab supper before going home. Another win win. We are also still collecting those donations for the tornado victims of Glen Allen throughout the afternoon today and tomorrow morning. Best of luck to both BlueJay teams today and you cannot beat this weather. We hope to see you all here.

District Announcement

Here are the baseball and softball brackets for the tournament this weekend. Tournament dates will be 4/13-4/15. Looks like great weather and great games. We hope to see you there. As always, I’ll keep you posted if there are any changes.

Good afternoon. I wanted to share with you something that we are doing this weekend, during the tournaments. We are going to be accepting donations for the Glen Allen tornado victims. We will do this all 3 days of the tournament and deliver to Glen Allen afterwards. I have shared a flyer with you that gives all the information. I will park a bus on the ball field parking lot to store all donations. If you have any questions, please let me know. You can email me at jward@oakridge.k12.mo.us.

Big congratulations to both the softball and baseball teams tonight for getting big wins against Delta and Bell City. Up next is the Oak Ridge Invitational Tournament, starting Thursday with both teams playing at 3pm. We hope to see you there.

It is beautiful outside today! Great weather for a baseball and softball game. Our softball team travels to Delta to take on the Bobcats with a 4:30 start time. Our baseball boys have a home game today against the Bell City Cubs also with a 4:30 start time. Good luck to both teams. Here is what our schedule looks like the rest of the week. Just passing along some information. If you have any questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

Just a couple more things this Monday morning to pass along. The Athletic Banquet for all sports teams will be held on 5/12/23 starting at 6pm in the elem gym/Cafeteria. This year's theme is "Let's Taco Bout OR Athletes". Invitations will be passed out to student athletes after Easter Break. Also, Dr. Glueck has agreed to come to Oak Ridge on Saturday, 5/20/23 from 8am-12pm and do physicals for our student athletes. Physicals can be valid for 2 years (if no concerns) and the cost is $20. A signed note will need to be sent with any student without a guardian present for Dr. Glueck to give the physicals. If you are not sure if your child needs a current physical for next year, just email me (jward@oakridge.k12.mo.us) and I will let you know. If you are going to be a 6th grader next year, you will need a current physical on file if you are playing sports. Also, any marching band student will need to have a current physical on file (new this year). If you have any questions about any of the above information, please let me know.
