Due to the current ice situation on roads and power outages in our community, the Oak Ridge R-6 School district will be closed tomorrow, January 7 , 2025. Both the girls’ and boys’ games scheduled for tomorrow night have been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date. Please do not be on campus today or tomorrow. The sidewalks and parking lots are very slick. Stay safe! Dr. Wood

Good afternoon BlueJay Fans. I hope you are staying safe and warm today. I am not sure this weekly schedule will stick with this weather, but here is what we have for the first week back to school. Week of 1/6-1/11. Monday 1/6: No School (Snow Day), HSGB vs Chaffee - postponed. I will let you know a rescheduled date when I have one confirmed. Tuesday 1/7: HSGB vs SCC 6pm ( varsity only); HSBB @ Scott City JV/V 6pm Wednesday 1/8: No Games Thursday 1/9: HSGB vs Bloomfield 6pm, (varsity only) Friday 1/10: HSBB vs SCC 6pm, JV/V Saturday 1/11: HSGB BCS Conference Tournament vs Puxico 11:30am. We are the host of this tournament and will have games on 1/13, and 1/15. I'll keep you updated and posted on results. I will absolutely let you know if anything changes throughout the week. The SE Missourian Christmas Tournament starts on Thursday, 12/26/24. Our boys will take on Jackson at 9am. See the information from the Show Me Center about entrance into the games. Clear bag policy is in place. Diaper bag allowed when escorting young children. Small clutch 4.5" by 6.5" in size or smaller allowed . ALL bags are subject to search at any time. Open gate weapon detectors will be utilized for everyone. Gates will close at halftime of the last game. TICKETS MAY ONLY BE PURCHASED AT THE BOX OFFICE. Cash and credit cards are accepted. $6.00- ages 6 and older, 5 and under are free.

Mrs. Fronabarger's Nature Unbound Class spread Christmas cheer to businesses in town on Tuesday. The students not only wrapped willow twigs to create the wreath base, but they bunched greenery, attached to the base, created & attached bows, made tags for each....AND....made 3 different recipes of lip balm (again, melting down the ingredients, filling the tubes, creating labels and labeling each). Thank you to Dr. Wood for driving the bus around town so each delivery could be made. Mrs. Fronabarger is proud of her students, their hard work and commitment to this project. Overall, students delivered 104 wreaths and 220 lip balms between Oak Ridge R-6 staff, school board members, community businesses and students.

Good morning BlueJay fans! We have an action packed week ahead with plenty of ballgames to attend. Here is the schedule for this week. Monday 12/9: HSGB @ Advance, varsity only, 6pm. HSBB (JV only) @ Meadow Hts 7:45 vs Arcadia Valley Tuesday 12/10: HSBB @ Delta JV/V starting at 6pm Wednesday 12/11: HSGB @ Charleston 6pm, varsity only. HSBB (JV only) @ Meadow Hts TBA Thursday 12/12: HSGB vs Lesterville 5pm, HSBB vs Lesterville 6:15pm. Both games will be varsity only. HSBB (JV only) @ Meadow Hts 4pm vs TBA. Also, the OR Booster Club is asking for anybody wishing to join Booster Club stay after these games for a short informational meeting. They will be bringing the pizza for all students to eat after the games, and answer any questions about being apart of the Booster Club. We hope you will all stay, eat pizza, and listen to some of the amazing things we want to do as Booster Club Members. I have attached a flyer for you to look over.
